The number of cyber-attacks around the world exploded in 2020: exploiting the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity for cybercriminals to take advantage of the shift in focus towards smart working and hospital staff transferred to the frontline.
The digitisation of healthcare services is bringing about a paradigm shift in the industry with a shift towards the increasing adoption of the Internet of Medical Things. Medical devices bring many benefits, such as improved innovation and performance. However, acceptability and usage of this technology face privacy concerns and security threats.
This research paper, Threat Intelligence and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) - IJETA 2020, investigates the challenges through a systematic literature review approach surveying threat intelligence and IoMT in the healthcare industry.
The findings show that IoMT is a viable and intelligent application used by most medical organisations. However, the cybersecurity threat is a constant challenge. Nonetheless, IoMT-SAF is a recommended solution for cybersecurity threats linked to IoMT.
